The Story of the Candy Cane
Legend has it that in the 18th Century somewhere in Europe any public display of Christianity was forbidden. No crosses or Bibles were allowed and the Christians were greatly oppressed. One old man, a candy maker by profession, was particularly distressed by this. He loved the Lord with all of his heart and couldn't stand to not share that love with the world. His heart especially went out to the children when Christmas drew near and no one was allowed to have a nativity scene (or crèche`) on display in their homes. He prayed for God to show him some way to make Christmas gifts for the children which would teach them the story of Christ.
The answer was the candy cane.
The candy cane was in the shape of a shepherd"s staff to show them Jesus is our Shepherd and we are His flock. A sheep follows his own shepherd, knows his voice, and trusts him and knows that he is totally safe with him. The sheep will follow no other shepherd but their own. This is how we are to be with Jesus if we truly follow Him ( John 10:11; Psalm 23:1; Isaiah 40:11) Upside down the candy cane was a "J", the first letter of Jesus' name. ( Luke 1:31) It was made of hard candy to remind us that Christ is the rock of our salvation. The wide red stripes on the candy cane were to represent the blood He shed on the cross for each one of us so that we can have eternal life through Him. He redeems us and cleanses us with His shed blood - the only thing that can wash away our sin. ( Luke 22:20) . The white stripes on a candy cane represented the virgin birth, sinless life and purity of our Lord. He is the only human being who ever lived on this earth who never committed a single sin.
Even though He was tempted just as we are, He never sinned. ( I Peter: 22) The three narrow red stripes on candy canes symbolized that by His stripes, or wounds, we are healed and the Trinity - the Father, Son (Jesus) and Holy Spirit. Before the crucifixion Jesus was beaten; the crown of thorns was placed on His head; His back was raw from the whip. We are healed by those wounds. He bore our sorrows and by His stripes we are healed. ( Isaiah 53:3) The flavoring in the candy cane was peppermint, which is similar to hyssop. Hyssop is of the mint family and was used in Old Testament times for purification and sacrifice just as Jesus sacrificed His life for ours. ( John 19:29; Psalm 51:7) The old candy maker told them that when we break our candy cane it reminds us that Jesus' body was broken for us. When we have communion it is a reminder of what He did for us. ( I Cor. 11:24)
If we share our candy cane and give some to someone else in love because we want to, it represents that same love of Jesus because He is to be shared with one another in love. ( I John 4:7,8) God gave Himself to us when He sent Jesus. He loved us so much He wants us to spend eternal life with Him... which we can do if we accept Jesus in our hearts as Savior and Lord. ( John 1:12; John 3:3,16) Some people believe this story of the candy cane is just a legend. Others believe it really happened. We do not know for sure exactly how the candy cane was invented, but there is one thing for certain... it is an excellent picture of Christ and His love for you.

I am every women
On a typical Saturday I wake up to a housse where a 5 and 2 year old rule the house with thier toysna d such, but I dont mind... its in my mother contract...... I wake up around 7:00 am do my daily devotionals , and comuter stuff then Im off to a load of very quite laundry, so the kids can sleep for a little while longer,a nd so my husband can really evjoy his days off not having to get up at the crack of dawn.
While the laundry is in process of getting to be smaller , I do a lap around the living room, clea, put away and mop the kitchen floor...... to me the kitchen has to be the cleanest room of all .
Usually by this time my kids are getting up, with a bed head dad who wants his coffe made so he can have about 2 cups, in order to be totallt awake.......I usually have to beg the kids if they will eat breakfast, which is usually won by the kids until lunch time, we are not avide breakfast people, unless we got some cold pizza from the night before.....
And last but not least when all is said and down laundry is folded and put away, the dish washer is humming itself clean and the kitchen is so clean not a crum is in sight, the dinner was a success, which it usually is.(thanks to my wonderful two aunts and beautiful grandmother who taught me how to make just about everything) we all sit down to have a nice piece of ym dessert...
This isnt the most exciting life , but its my life and I Love it, I have a home, husband, family and soul responsibility of my house hold.....What more could a women ask for?

I am a Mother at PEace
1. Gabriel decides to take his diaper off and put the poop in the toilet by hand.
2. Same thing happens the next day but it was watery poop and he got it all over the floor.
3.When William decides to cancel our direct tv before finding out that a week later the other cable service wont by here until Monday.
4. When he uses the debit card for a 1.25 item at the gas station.
5. When I know that my van is running only by the grace of God because my gas is all gone and my dad keeps talking and talking and talking.
6. When the bearing on my van is bad and it sounds like a cat is under my hood screaming for life
7. when the rain is so wonderful but my hair is a curly as a curly fry.
8. Its raining and I basically slide to my sisters car on my back hoping that none of my neighbors saw what kind of fool I just made of myself.
9. When we are all crammed like tuna in a can in Williams truck.
10. When Aidan takes it upon himself to rip his bed apart books everywhere and curtains pulled down just so he could hide from Gabriel.
Isnt life Sweet, Great Wonderful And Peacefull?

This is what makes me happy
Rain, Rain, and MORE Rain!!!! As William and I left the gas station, after filling up we were on our way home when he asks..." Do you want to go for a ride?" ..
"Sure I said it seems to be a nice rain for a nice little cruise around Safford, the rain doesnt seem to bad." Right after I said that the biggest crackle of thunder burst through the sky.
With my eyes as big as tennis balls, I said maybe we should just go home and wait for the rain to calm down."
" I agree" said William.
On our way home from the gas station, which is usually a 10 min. ride turned into a 20 min ride with sheets of white in front of us we couldnt even see the car in front of us........
William kept yelling at us in the car because the rai was so loud that we couldnt really hear eachother.
Right now its 5:56 and the rain still keeps coming I have the perfect view of the sky from my computer I am just sitting here watching the rain and listening to the beautiful birds bath in the water instead of trying to eat all our grass seed.
